About Shopbam
Shopbam covers UK shopping: products, the shops that sell them, and the retail news worth knowing before you spend.
How a review here works
We do not test products ourselves, and we do not pretend to. What we do is read every independent review of a product we can find, then set out three of them side by side: what each one actually said, who wrote it, and how much weight it deserves. A magazine test, a community of owners and a shop's own rating block are three very different kinds of evidence, and every page here labels which is which.
Each source section carries a video of the product so you can watch it before you buy. Where a video is made by the manufacturer or a retailer, the page says so.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- We never state a negative as a fact when it is really "we could not find one." If we searched for an independent test and found none, the page says we searched and found none.
- Conflicting specifications are shown, not resolved. If three retailers give three weights, you get all three rather than a number we picked.
- Every review ends with what we could not check. Blocked sources, unverified figures and untested claims are listed rather than quietly dropped.
- Small samples are labelled as small samples. Seven five-star ratings is not a verdict.
- Criticism describes what a company publishes or what owners report — never a guess at motive.
Corrections
If a figure here is wrong or out of date, or you own the product and your experience contradicts the page, we would rather know than be right. Get in touch and we will check it and update the page.
