Great Bridge Shopping Park, West Bromwich: Shops, Parking, Directions and Opening Times

A small open-A1 parade on Great Bridge Street in Sandwell with Poundland, Boots and B&M in a row and a car park in front of them. It has no website, no operator, no published opening hours and no published parking terms. It is also two different things depending on who you ask: the letting agents call it a Shopping Park, every tenant's postal address calls it a Retail Park, and the Asda half a mile away gets called Great Bridge Retail Park too. Here is what can actually be verified, and how much of it cannot.

Illustration of Great Bridge Shopping Park, Great Bridge, West Bromwich

Great Bridge Shopping Park sits on Great Bridge Street, West Bromwich, B70 0EN, on the Sandwell side of the boundary between West Bromwich and Tipton. It is a short terrace of large-format units — Poundland, Boots and B&M are the confirmed occupiers — with surface parking in front, covering either 34,500 sq ft or 32,710 sq ft on a three-acre site depending on whose particulars you read. It is a useful, unglamorous local park, and one of the hardest destinations of its size in Britain to research.

The reason is simple: nobody publishes anything about it. There is no operator website. We tested four obvious addresses — greatbridgeretailpark.co.uk, greatbridgeshoppingpark.co.uk, greatbridgeretailpark.com and greatbridgepark.co.uk — on 13 September 2026 and not one resolved. Not a holding page, not a parked domain, not a robots block: nothing at the other end at all. There is consequently no store directory, no opening-hours page, no parking policy, no accessibility statement and no phone number for the park as a park. Every fact below comes from a letting agent's listing, a tenant's own record, a pharmacy register, a council document or a mapping record.

The name is the next problem, and it is worth reading carefully before you set off. Completely Retail lists the scheme as Great Bridge Shopping Park. LoopNet lists what appears to be the same asset, with the same letting agent, as Great Bridge Retail Park. And the tenants settle it on the ground: Boots' registered pharmacy address is "Unit 2 Gt Bridge Rtl Park", Poundland is "Unit 1, Great Bridge Retail Park" and B&M is "Unit 3, Great Bridge Retail Park". If you are looking for a sign, look for Retail Park.

And then there is the other Great Bridge Retail Park. Half a mile away on Brickhouse Lane South, Tipton, DY4 7HW, there is a large Asda Great Bridge Supercentre with a petrol station, a pharmacy, an opticians, a Costa and electric vehicle chargers. Asda itself has never called it a retail park — its own locator says "Asda Great Bridge Supercentre" — but Foursquare, Apple Maps and half the opening-times aggregators file it under "Great Bridge Retail Park". Those facilities are not this park's, and much of what you will read online about "Great Bridge Retail Park" is actually about the supermarket.

Town centres across the country face significant challenges and we need to be willing to try new approaches that encourage people back into our high streets, support traders and help our communities thrive

— Councillor Ray Nock, Leader of Sandwell Council, in the council's own news release of 11 August 2026 announcing a free-parking and free-market-stall pilot in Wednesbury and Great Bridge. He is talking about the town centre and its market, not about the retail park — nobody has ever been quoted describing the retail park

The essentials

DetailGreat Bridge Shopping Park
What it isA small open-A1, non-food retail park, described by its letting agent as an "Open A1, Non-Food scheme with a tenant line up including Boots, B&M and KFC". Use class E(a). Not the Asda-anchored site half a mile away on Brickhouse Lane South, which third parties also call Great Bridge Retail Park.
AddressGreat Bridge Street, West Bromwich, West Midlands B70 0EN LoopNet's listing says "Great Bridge Rd"; every other source, including all three tenant addresses, says Street.
Satnav postcodeB70 0EN Grid reference SO980924. The Asda site is DY4 7HW — a different postcode and a different scheme.
Also known asGreat Bridge Retail Park The agents' scheme name is "Shopping Park"; the tenants' postal addresses all say "Retail Park". Both refer to the same units.
OpenedNot published LoopNet's year-built field says 2009. That is a listings database entry, not a statement by a developer, a council or a newspaper, and no other source gives any date. No developer is named anywhere.
Size34,500 sq ft (Completely Retail) or 32,710 sq ft gross leasable area (LoopNet) Two agents' listings, 1,790 sq ft apart, neither stating its measurement basis. Site area 3.02 acres per LoopNet.
Number of storesFour confirmed tenants Poundland, Boots and B&M by their own addresses, plus KFC claimed by the letting agent but giving a different street in its own listing. No directory exists to count from.
ParkingSurface car park, size not published LoopNet gives a ratio of 5.59 spaces per 1,000 sq ft, which against 32,710 sq ft works out at about 183 spaces. That is our arithmetic from an agent's ratio, not a published count. No tariff, no time limit and no enforcement contractor is named by anyone.
Height restrictionNot published Nobody states one. It is a surface car park on a three-acre site so a barrier is unlikely, but that is inference, not a published fact.
EV chargingNone published No charger is listed for B70 0EN by anyone. The Asda on the other site does list EV charging — that is a different car park.
OwnerUnresolved No sale, purchase or ownership announcement for this scheme could be found anywhere, and Completely Retail names no landlord. A lease-advisory case study on the park exists on a surveyor's website but was unreachable from our network.
Letting agentMorgan Williams Named independently by both Completely Retail and LoopNet. The only professional party publicly attached to the scheme.
Accessibility informationNone published No operator statement, no AccessAble guide, no Euan's Guide entry, and no toilets, Changing Places, Shopmobility, baby changing or blue-badge count from anyone.
Council areaSandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, Great Bridge ward Great Bridge is a town centre in Sandwell's hierarchy of centres, within the Wednesbury to Tipton Metro Corridor regeneration area.
WebsiteNone greatbridgeretailpark.co.uk, greatbridgeshoppingpark.co.uk, greatbridgeretailpark.com and greatbridgepark.co.uk were all tested on 13 September 2026 and none resolved.
PhoneNot published There is no management office number. Tenant numbers: Poundland 0121 520 3361, Boots 0121 557 6673.

There is no such thing as opening hours for this park, and we are not going to invent a set. With no operator and no website, the only times that exist are the times each tenant publishes for itself. Every row above was checked on 13 September 2026 and every row has exactly one source behind it. The one line you can rely on is Sunday. B&M, Poundland, Boots and the Asda down the road all independently give 10am to 4pm on a Sunday. Four sources agreeing is about as good as this park gets. Everything else is single-sourced, so if a specific opening time decides your trip, ring the shop you actually want: Poundland on 0121 520 3361, Boots on 0121 557 6673.

Treat the Boots row with particular care. Those hours — 9am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday — come from the National Pharmacy Network's register entry, which records the hours the pharmacy is contracted to open. That is not necessarily the hours the shop trades, and twelve hours a day six days a week is long for a retail-park Boots. Boots' own store page blocks automated access, so it could not be cross-checked. The NHS service record for the same pharmacy, code FJF84, confirms the address but not the times.

Nobody publishes bank holiday, Christmas or Easter hours for this park or for any tenant on it. If you are planning a trip over a holiday weekend, assume nothing.

Getting there

Schematic of the approach to Great Bridge Shopping Park: the junction, the site layout, the car parks and the public transport links
Schematic, not to scale — it shows the approach, roughly where the anchor stores sit and which transport links reach the site.

By road — and why there is no junction number on this page

Use the postcode B70 0EN and aim for Great Bridge Street, West Bromwich. We are not printing a motorway junction, because there is no operator to publish one. Plenty of third-party listings will happily give you an M5 or M6 junction for Great Bridge; none of them speaks for the park, and a confidently wrong junction is worse than no junction at all.

The closest thing to authoritative road guidance is the letting agent's marketing copy, quoted rather than paraphrased: the park is "strategically located off the A41 Black Country Spine Road, with excellent connectivity to the M5 and M6 motorways", with "wide frontage" and "excellent access via A41, M5, and M6 motorways". Note that even the agent, whose job it is to sell the location, names no junction number. Locally the through route is the A461 Horseley Heath, single carriageway and 30mph.

Parking

Surface parking in front of the units. No space count, no tariff, no time limit, no enforcement contractor and no height restriction is published by anyone. The only number anyone gives is a ratio in the agent's particulars — 5.59 spaces per 1,000 sq ft — which against the 32,710 sq ft figure implies about 183 spaces. That is arithmetic, not a published count, and you should treat it as an order of magnitude rather than a fact.

By train

Dudley Port is the nearest station, and two sources give two different distances with no walking route or time attached: the postcode record for B70 0EN says 1 km, a third-party store listing says 5,210 feet, nearer a mile. Take it as fifteen to twenty-five minutes on foot and check a map first. The same listing gives Tipton at 1.71 miles and Sandwell & Dudley at 1.91 miles.

By Metro

The nearest West Midlands Metro stops named by any source are Black Lake and Dudley Street, Guns Village, on the Birmingham to Wolverhampton line. No distance or walking time is published for either, and the source is a third-party store directory, not the tram operator.

By bus

The bus hub is Great Bridge Interchange, in the town centre rather than on the park. A December 2024 transport assessment for a redevelopment at Horseley Heath recorded weekday frequencies of service 74/74A every 12 minutes, services 42 and 43 every 20 minutes and service 30 hourly. Those were measured for a town-centre site, not for the retail park. A separate directory names stops at Market Place and the Asda superstore grounds as closest to the shops. No cycle parking, coach parking or taxi rank is published for the park by anyone.

Accessibility

This is the emptiest section on the page and it is empty for one reason: nobody publishes anything. There is no operator accessibility statement, no AccessAble guide and no Euan's Guide entry for the park, and no accessible toilet, Changing Places facility, Shopmobility scheme, baby changing, blue-badge bay count, quiet hours or assistance-dog policy is published by anyone. The only such claim attached to any unit is KFC's own listing of baby changing and disabled access — and that is the unit whose presence on this scheme is disputed. The chains publish store-level accessibility on their own sites, and on this park that is the only route there is. Absent from the record is not the same as absent from the site — phone the shop you need before you travel.

The shops

There is no store directory, because there is no website. The list below is assembled entirely from the tenants' own addresses and from the letting agents' particulars, all checked on 13 September 2026.

Confirmed by their own records

Claimed, but disputed

KFC. Completely Retail names it as a tenant here. KFC's own listing calls the branch "Birmingham – Great Bridge Retail Pk" and gives the address as Great Western Way, Tipton, DY4 7HJ — which runs on the Asda side of Great Bridge, not along Great Bridge Street. Either the agent has counted a neighbouring drive-thru as part of its own scheme, or the scheme is understood locally as spanning both sides. Nothing published anywhere resolves it.

The vacancy that contradicts itself

Completely Retail advertises Unit 1 at 10,000 sq ft as available to let. Poundland's own postal address is Unit 1. Both cannot be current: either the listing is stale, or the units have been renumbered, or Poundland has left — and no Poundland closure at this address has been reported by anyone. We are not writing it up as a departure on the strength of an availability schedule.

Two chains you will see attached to this park online that are not on it

Arrivals and departures — a genuine blank

We could not source a single dated arrival or departure for this park from any trade or local outlet. No lettings, no openings, no closures, no refurbishment news — a direct consequence of there being no operator issuing statements and no landlord identified to issue them. We would rather tell you the record is empty than fill it with guesses.

What is nearby, if this park is too small for the trip

Great Bridge is a compact local park and it will not fill an afternoon. The Black Country alternatives within a short drive are considerably bigger: Merry Hill at Brierley Hill is the regional destination, Gallagher Shopping Park at Wednesbury is the nearest comparable open park with a full fashion line-up, One Stop Shopping Centre and Retail Park covers the north Birmingham side, and Bentley Bridge Retail Park adds leisure and a cinema. The agent's own particulars point at nearer retail too, naming Astle Park and a B&Q.

Useful to know

Know which Great Bridge you are going to

Two retail sites in Great Bridge get called Great Bridge Retail Park. One is the parade on Great Bridge Street, B70 0EN — Poundland, Boots, B&M — which is what this page is about. The other is the Asda Great Bridge Supercentre on Brickhouse Lane South, DY4 7HW, which trades around the clock from Tuesday to Friday and has the petrol, pharmacy, opticians, Costa and chargers. Put the postcode in, not the name.

Going by Poundland and B&M hours, not park hours

With no shared schedule, the practical window is set by the earliest closer. B&M opens at 8am and trades to 9pm Monday to Saturday, the longest day on the park; Poundland shuts at 8pm on weekdays and 7pm on a Saturday. On a Sunday everything is 10am to 4pm. For all three shops in one Saturday visit, be there before 7pm.

Parcels

There is an InPost parcel locker registered at the park as "West Bromwich Great Bridge Retail Park, B70 0EN". Its access hours could not be read — InPost's page blocked our request.

Free parking in Great Bridge — the pilot is not here

From 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, Sandwell Council is offering up to two hours of free parking at Great Bridge Market Place, plus Ridding Lane and Albert Street in Wednesbury, and has waived market-stall pitch fees. The council's stated reason is blunt: "the markets in Wednesbury and Great Bridge currently operate at a deficit, making them suitable locations to test whether targeted support can help increase activity". That is the town-centre car park by the market, not the retail park.

Things nobody publishes

What could not be confirmed by anyone: park opening hours, a parking tariff or time limit, a height restriction, a space count, an enforcement contractor, EV charging, toilets, a Changing Places facility, baby changing, Shopmobility, blue-badge bay numbers, cash machines, Wi-Fi, a dogs policy, a management office, a phone number, lost property, gift cards, a centre manager, footfall, an opening year, a developer or an owner. Most of those almost certainly have an answer on the ground. None has one in public.

How it got here

There is no published history of this retail park. That is the finding, and it is worth stating plainly rather than dressing up. Across the letting agents, Sandwell Council's planning and monitoring documents, the trade press and the local press, we could not source an opening date, a developer, an architect, a contractor, an opening ceremony, a previous use of the site or a single ownership transaction. The one date that exists anywhere is 2009, in LoopNet's "year built" field — a database entry on a listings aggregator, corroborated by nobody. We are not going to promote it into a founding date.

The ownership chain is a blank, and there is one specific lead we could not follow. Completely Retail, which usually names both owner and agents, names only the agent: Morgan Williams. LoopNet does the same. No sale of the park has been reported by any trade outlet we could reach. The one promising source is a lease-advisory case study published by a firm of surveyors under the title "West Bromwich – Great Bridge Retail Park" — a document of that kind normally names the instructing landlord. We could not open it: the request was rejected at our own network's proxy rather than by the site, so we cannot even say whether it would have answered the question. It should be the first thing anyone revisiting this park tries.

What the council does say about Great Bridge is about the town centre, not the park. The Sandwell Local Plan's publication version mentions Great Bridge exactly once, placing it among the centres where "retail, residential, and mixed-use development will be encouraged... in line with their position within the hierarchy of centres", within the Wednesbury to Tipton Metro Corridor regeneration area. The Authority Monitoring Report for 2023-24 does not mention Great Bridge at all, and in August 2026 the council was candid that the town's market "currently operate[s] at a deficit". This is a working local centre under pressure, and the retail park is the part of it nobody writes about.

The deeper history here belongs to the canals and the iron trade rather than to the shops. The surviving listed structure in the ward is Hempole Lane Bridge, carrying the road over the Walsall Canal: Grade II, list entry 1077098, first listed 29 September 1987, and described by Historic England as a public road bridge of 1825 in brick with sandstone coping, a single elliptical arch, walls curved on plan and cast iron plates on both sides inscribed "MDCCCXXV". The retail park is a late and modest addition to a landscape that was making things for a century and a half before anyone thought to put a Poundland on it.

What we could not check

  • This park has no operator and no website. Four candidate domains — greatbridgeretailpark.co.uk, greatbridgeshoppingpark.co.uk, greatbridgeretailpark.com and greatbridgepark.co.uk — were all tested on 13 September 2026 and none resolved. Nothing on this page comes from the park itself.
  • Even the name is disputed. Completely Retail calls it Great Bridge Shopping Park; LoopNet, and the postal address of every tenant on it, call it Great Bridge Retail Park. We have kept "Shopping Park" because that is the agents' scheme name, but expect "Retail Park" on the ground.
  • The owner is unresolved. No sale or ownership announcement could be found and no agent names a landlord — Morgan Williams is the letting agent, not the owner. A surveyor's lease-advisory case study on the park exists but was unreachable from our network, and it is the most likely place the owner is named. Separately, a £1.3m sale of "Great Bridge Centre, Great Bridge Street, B70 0EN" in January 2017 sits in the price-paid record with no source saying what that building is; the figure is far too low for the whole park, so do not read it as a sale of it.
  • The floor area differs two ways. Completely Retail says 34,500 sq ft; LoopNet says 32,710 sq ft gross leasable area on a 3.02-acre site. Neither states its measurement basis and we have not picked one. The 2009 build date is likewise a single database field in LoopNet's "year built" entry, corroborated by no developer, council document, newspaper or trade report.
  • The parking space count on this page is our own arithmetic, from the agent's ratio of 5.59 spaces per 1,000 sq ft against the 32,710 sq ft figure. Nobody publishes an actual count, a tariff, a time limit, an enforcement contractor or a height restriction. Read the signs when you arrive.
  • Whether KFC is on this park is unresolved. The letting agent lists it as a tenant; KFC's own listing gives Great Western Way, Tipton, DY4 7HJ, which is on the Asda side. Both positions are printed and neither is confirmed.
  • Unit 1 is advertised as vacant at 10,000 sq ft while Poundland's own address is Unit 1. No Poundland closure here has been reported anywhere, so we have not written it up as a departure. Nor could we source a single dated arrival or departure for this park from any outlet — the trade and local record is genuinely empty.
  • There are no park opening hours. Every time in the table is one tenant's own schedule, single-sourced except the Sunday 10am–4pm line, which four sources agree on. The Boots row is pharmacy-register hours — the hours the pharmacy is contracted to open, not confirmed shop hours — and Boots' own store page blocks automated access. No bank holiday, Christmas or Easter hours are published by anyone.
  • No accessibility information exists at all. No operator statement, no AccessAble guide, no Euan's Guide entry, and nobody publishes toilets, a Changing Places facility, Shopmobility, baby changing, blue-badge bay numbers, quiet hours or a dogs policy. Absent from the record is not the same as absent from the site — ring the individual shop.
  • The distance to Dudley Port station differs two ways — 1 km on the postcode record against 5,210 feet on a store directory — with no walking route or time published. The Metro stops named, Black Lake and Dudley Street Guns Village, come from a third-party directory, not the tram operator, and carry no distance. The bus frequencies were measured for a site in Great Bridge town centre in a December 2024 transport assessment, not for the retail park.
  • No motorway junction appears on this page, deliberately. There is no operator to publish one, and the letting agent's own copy names none — it says only "excellent access via A41, M5, and M6 motorways". Use B70 0EN. Sandwell Council's two-hour free parking pilot likewise does not apply here: it covers Great Bridge Market Place car park in the town centre, plus Ridding Lane and Albert Street in Wednesbury, from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
  • Two other sites are routinely confused with this one. The Asda Great Bridge Supercentre at Brickhouse Lane South, DY4 7HW, about half a mile away, is a separate scheme — Asda never calls it a retail park, mapping companies do, and its 24-hour trading, petrol, pharmacy, opticians, Costa and EV chargers are not this park's. Black Country Park, B70 0BN, is a trade and hybrid office estate of 2012 on the same street with a postcode one letter different. And the store count in circulation is too high: four tenants are confirmed here, and a 33,000 sq ft park on three acres could not plausibly hold a figure in the teens.
